Airline Trail
Route 87
Columbia
(stamp size 2x2)

You will need to find your way to where the Airline Trail crosses route 87 in Columbia near the Lebanon town line. You can park on the south side of the road near the gate. Do not park on the other side of the road as you will be blocking a private driveway.

Pups are certainly allowed on this trail.

In order to get the same effect as is in the log book, then you will need to bring yellow, red, blue and green markers.

After parking, you will need to carefully cross the road-in the crosswalk. Walk around the gate and on to the pretty trail. This is a mostly level walk with some very pretty views.

After walking a bit you will cross over the remnants of an old railroad bridge. It is pretty cool and you can even go off to the left to have a better look at it.

After exploring the bridge, walk on some more. Now you will be looking for the perfect sitting rock wedged between two Birch trees-one is a twin and the other a singleton. This is on the left side of the trail and very distinctive.

Once you find it, stop.

Turn left and walk ~ 46 steps off trail to a large split rock. You will see it is split when you get there.

Look in about the middle of the split, under leaves and rocks to find the pretty Pennsylvania letterbox created by Lightnin Bug.

After stamping in and re-hiding well you can retrace your steps back to your vehicle.
