This is a great hike whether you find box or not. While at the Red Rock Cyn, park at the "ice box canyon" trailhead.
Walk up the trail about half mile till you get to a trail sign at a fork. Take the left fork that says "icebox canyon 2.5 miles". Several hundred yards up that trail to the immediate left are a stand of rocks with cubbys at ground level. This clump of rocks is about 5 ft off the trail and at eye level. The box is at ground level to the left side of the rocks. A special treat awaits in the creekbed below. There are seasonal pools of clean clear running water full of tadpoles and frogs. Take a dip!
