About 2 mi. round trip

This stamp was given to me by Sparky Butterfly. It is about time I found a place to share it with all of you.

Park in the new trail head parking space on Tillotson Rd. Cross the road and take the yellow blazed trail into the woods - through woods, through ferns, through cut logs. At the T go left and cross the brook. At next intersection stay straight. To the right you will see trail signs but also No Trespassing signs. Those must be trails for Avon Old Farms School boys. As you continue straight you will see no more blazes. You will be walking in a gully formed by the old canal. The bank on the left is probably the old towpath. Stay to the right at the divide. Eventually you will see a flatish rock on the right with a stump and log by it. Check out the base of the tree behind the rock. (The tree is now a rotting stump. Look there and cover carefully.

Either retrace your steps or continue on to explore more of the trail. At the grassy open space, you can make a hairpin turn and follow the trail marked occasionally with pink ribbons. This will bring you back to the canal trail. Turn left and make your way back to the car.
