Temple Quarry Mt. Goat (replacement)

The goat is back! Our first goat stamp hidden in this quarry disappeared last year. We don't know if he was taken or washed away. Anyway,Snowflake carved a new one for you to find.

We checked on it last week (Sept 21, 2012) and someone had just found it and laid it on the trail. That's the 2nd time we've found it like that, so we've moved it further east on the trail to hopefully a more safe spot.

This Mountain Goat stamp is hidden on the Temple Quarry hiking trail located just at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon in Sandy, UT, on the south side of the road.

Once you are in the Temple Quarry Parking Lot, take the paved path at the end of the parking lot (east). It parallels the biking/hiking path. Follow it to the end of the pavement where there is a telephone pole.

At the pole continue on the path going east. You'll pass a power station or your right and a pile of gravel on your left. Then you'll come to a telephone pole on your left that is laying on its side. Walk to the middle of this pole and look left. You'll see several rocks across the path in the brush on the far (north) side. The Goat is hidden behind them.

Note: Be very careful and discreet when you find this letterbox as this is a very busy, popular trail.

Enjoy the trail, and in early spring thru Mother’s Day – take a moment to look up on the cliffs to the south and see if you spot any mountain goats! Snowflake & Music Maker
