Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) is nestled at the top of a beautiful hill in the heart of San Marcos, Tx. For years, actors, directors and theatre technicians have received their degrees and training from the TSU Theatre Center. This letterbox has been placed to honor the Theatre Center building, faculty and students who, over many years, have produced outstanding theatre productions. The TSU Theatre Department offers the best theatre training in the state and, in fact, the country.

The Act Well Your Part letterbox is somewhere near the TSU Theatre Center which is located at the corner of University St. and N. Moon St. in San Marcos, Tx. The actual address of the Theatre Center is 430 N. Moon St.

From University St. turn north on N. Moon St. You will immediately see the circular Theatre Center surrounded by water affectionately known as "The Moat". Continue on N. Moon St. past the Theatre Center until N. Moon St. ends. Go right where you will see a guard shack. If the guard shack is manned, stop and tell him/her that you're here to visit the Theatre building and he/she will give you a visitor pass and instruct you where to park. If the shack is unmanned, just park close to the Theatre Center. You should be able to see your car the entire time.

From this parking lot, look at the Theatre Center. You will see a bridge crossing the moat to your right, and a closer bridge crossing the moat to your left. Head toward the bridge to your left. Do not cross the bridge, however. Continue past the bridge on the circular sidewalk surrounding the moat. You will eventually come to another bridge crossing the moat. This bridge faces almost due east. At the entrance to this bridge there is a sign reading "Speech Drama Center". Do not cross this bridge either. In fact, you need to turn away from the building and the sign. You will see five steps heading down to another sidewalk. Descend these steps and stop at the bottom. Turn to face the steps. Looking immediately to the right of the steps you will see a somewhat long crevice under the above sidewalk. Reaching into this crevice and removing some rocks, you will find the Act Well Your Part letterbox. You can stamp in right here on the steps if you want, or you can explore the nearby area for several beautiful spots to stop and stamp. Please make sure the lid is securely fastened and that you replace the box exactly as you found it.

Thanks so much for honoring the TSU Theatre Department and Theatre Center by finding this letterbox.
