****THIS BOX IS RETIRED****

This box is hidden on the nature trail at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park outside of Fredericksburg, Texas. Lady Bird was known for her love of wildflowers and during her husband's term as President of the United States was very active in preserving and increasing the wildflowers in the state of Texas. Start at the corner of Main Street and Adams in downtown Fredericksburg. Go south on Adams for 3.4 miles. Turn right into Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park and drive .4 miles to the park headquarters on your right. Pass through the stone fence and turn left at the Nature Trail sign and park. Walk to the trail map. Read the map and familiarize yourself with the identification of poison ivy which can be found on the trail. Follow the trail to the left and stop to enjoy the butterfly habitat. After you have enjoyed the butterflies, continue along the trail. Walk down steps and stop at the bird blind and feeder area. Once you have observed the numerous native birds, you can continue along the trail. After crossing a small footbridge, follow the trail until you see the water on your left. Continue until you come to an open area. Look to the left and there should be nine tall, slender trees across the water. Go down three steps and turn to the right. Take 22-24 steps along the top ridge. Look down and under a pile of rocks for the letterbox. When returning the letterbox, please be sure to place the rocks so that the letterbox is protected and not visible.
