This is one in a series of boxes planted in the state game lands of northeastern Pennsylvania. If you seek this box, please be aware of hunting seasons. I recommend wearing blaze orange any time of year. I don't recommend seeking this box during deer season, except on Sundays.

State Game Lands 292 is located in Luzerne County, in Laurel Run, just southeast of Wilkes-Barre. To find the parking lot, begin at the "Wilkes-Barre" interchange of the PA Turnpike's NE Extension (I-476). About a mile south of the interchange on PA-115, turn right onto Laurel Run Road. Go 3.5 miles on Laurel Run Road. On your right is a dirt road marked "Forest Road." It looks like a driveway, but it's not. Follow Forest Road about .1 or .2 mile up to the first intersection. There's a State Game Lands parking lot there. Park there.

NOTE: Forest Road is very steep, and very rocky. My little Mazda did fine in the summer, but I would not recommend driving this in the winter unless you have a more appropriate vehicle.

Clues:

* From the parking lot, take the trail heading east into the woods.

* Go over or around a fallen tree.

* After a while, go under an angled fallen tree, then around a fallen V-tree. Keep going.

* When you come to a fork in the road, continue east.

* Cross Sand Spring Run.

* Cross under the power line.

* Eventually the road will curve gently left, then right, then left, then more sharply to the right.

* After the sharp right, stop at a large boulder just to the right of the trail.

* From the boulder, go 7 paces at 85* to a stump.

* From the stump, go 3 paces at 30* to a rock.

* Suspicious Pile of Rocks (SPOR) under the southeast side of the rock.
