The Lonely Old Troll Letterbox is located on the Arthur and Eunice Sweton Trail, part of the Canton Land Trust. To get to the trail, take route 44 towards New Hartford. Turn right on Indian Hill Rd, to Breezy Hill Rd. on the right. Travel 0.1 miles and park on the left, roadside. The trailhead is on the other side of the road, about 100 feet up. There are yellow blazes on the guardrails. Please note, there is no ink in the box. For all you Treasure Hikers out there, my pedometer told me this is a 1.25 mile round trip hike.

The Lonely Old Troll has made his home on this yellow blazed trail. He has appointed himself "keeper" of the bridge. The clues to find this troll couldn't be any simpler. Simply follow the yellow trail until you come to a tiny wooden bridge. But don't cross the bridge, stop here. Although this troll is a friendly sort, you need to pay the toll to cross. All he asks is that you stamp into his logbook and if it strikes you, leave a few kind words for him to remember you by. He doesn't get many visitors out this way, so he'll appreciate whatever you write for him. Now turn your back to the bridge. See the yellow blazed tree to your right? Look in a little cubbie hole at the bottom of the tree, covered with the usual debris. Please rehide well.

If you'd like, you can continue on a little bit farther to find Jonah's special box. Regardless of what you decide, you will need to retrace your steps to get back to your car. Thanks for making the Lonely Old Troll's day a little brighter.
