When time2retire got his first wheels, he bought a '66 VW micro-bus. His interest in VW's started back with his Dad, who owned two Beetles, a '58 and '60. His whole family drove VW's. When we got married, one of the first cars we owned was a '68 Campmobile. The tradition continued right though the '90's when our son bought a Jetta. One of my nephews is still driving it. Here's to Volkswagen and its amazing power to capture our hearts. Dave drove that old '66 through Soldier's Delight many times during his teenage years. Since it was near his house, bets are he took some cute girls there, too! After he told me about those fun times, I decided to stop by for a visit. What a great place! It has 5 hiking trails and a visitor's center. Pets on leashes are welcome.

From I-695 take I-795 via exit 19 towards Owings Mill/Reisterstown. Take exit 7B on Franklin Blvd. west. Turn right on Church Road, left on Berryman Lane, then left on Deer Park Road. The visitor center will be on your right, about one mile down the road. Park in the left side parking lot in the last space. Walk over to the first lamp post and pick it up. Don't strain yourself too much! Save some of that energy for a good hike!
