In the center of New Hartford turn onto central ave. at the light with Passiflora on the opposite side of the street. Stay left past the library . At the stop sign go straight onto steele rd. At the V stay to the right. Go 8/10ths of a mile . On the left will be a gravel area with marked boulders to park at. On the trees are white diamonds stating New Hartford land. Also an arrow with a trail written on it. Head onto the trail past the map kiosk on the red trail. This is also known as Jones Mountain.
follow the path until you come to an intersection . stay right on the red trail. Before the red trail curves left and uphill there’s a 2 sister tree on the right about 15 steps behind the 2 sister is a fallen tree there you’ll find the candle stick in a stump covered in bark.
Continue on the trail shortly after passing a big hole just off the trail on the left is a 3 sister tree (behind some mt. laurel) look for a 3 ft stump on left in the middle of the 3 sister tree is where you’ll find a gun.
Proceed up the hill past private property signs in the middle of the path there will be a stump just up from the stump there will be a 2 sister tree on your left . Look to your right for its twins 15 steps off the path under a flat rock you’ll find the curtain tie .
If you come to the white birch with 3 red blazes you went to far.
Continue past private shooting area cross over the wooden bridge.
Take the yellow trail . Shortly on the left is a small clearing and a tree with yellow blazes . Look at the dead tree under some bark you’ll find some rope.
Notice the crocked tree just beyond this tree.
Continue down hill spot a 2 sister tree on the left of trail look to the right of the trail there is a rock where you’ll find poison .
If you can spot a 4ft high stump in the woods your in the right area. If you come to a white birch with yellow blazes on it you went to far.
Be careful crossing the brook as you continue in the trail . When you get to the red/ yellow/ white crossing turn around and go back 15 steps look to the right inside the hole of the tree for the knife.
