Going north on Rt 8 from Connecticut, you will pass through New Boston. A bit further on there will be a covered bridge (The Tannery Bridge) off to your right. It may be a little hard to see until you are passing it. A little further on you will see a picnic area sign on the right. The pull off for the area is .3 miles ahead. Pull in there.
It’s a bit of a stretch to call this a picnic area since there are no table. Anyway, how does crab sound for lunch? Walk down the “trail” past several trees with roots entwined. Walk 4 steps further on from the root closest to the path. Go right to the big rock and look between it and the next one. Cover well when you’re done.
11/12/09 - everything aok.
