Several years ago a Pacific Northwest boy and his baby sister, accompanied by his Mom and favorite Uncle and Aunt, went on an adventure to visit the most beautiful creek in all of the world. On this eventful day, this city kid went wading in a pristine stream and got to follow the coolest Uncle on the planet to learn about the heart of Tennessee. Well, by midday, this creek had built up an appetite and sucked the sandals right off this boy’s feet. The ‘boys’ chased it until the sandal was out of sight, a sacrifice to the water gods.
At the end of the day, we stopped at a cracker barrel of a restaurant to fill our starving tummies, and were told, “No shoes, no service!” The only ‘shoes’ this country store had available were a very smallish pair of lovely ladybug slippers, size fours for a pair of size seven feet. Auntie and Uncle purchased said slippers for the very hungry boy who wore the ladybug shoes with ‘pride’ and much verbal joshing, and devoured dinner. He carried the slippers back home to the PNW and they were inherited by the baby sister, and were much loved for years.
We hope you love this love this creek as much as we do, and maybe you will have the experience of having a crawfish give birth in your hands and shout, “Mom, they’re multiplying!”
