3 Mile B&A Trail Hike/Bike. Follow Baltimore/Annapolis Blvd. South through Severna Park to the parking lot across from the Woods Community Center, next to the Arthritis Foundation. Once you make it onto the B&A trail head North (away from Annapolis, toward Glen Burnie). You will be starting your hike at B&A Trail mile marker 4.5. Continue on the trail through Severna Park, crossing over several traffic intersections (McKinsey, Robinson, Whites Rd.s). You will pass the coffee shop and bike shop with the historic mural on your right. You will notice several plant, tree and garden identification markers along the way. When you come to the wooden fence line on your right you can detour to see the pond below. You may have passed it numerous times on the Ritchie Hwy./Rt. 2 side. Now you can take a good look. After the detour continue North until you come to McBrides Lane. You're getting close. Cross over and begin to look for the retaining wall on the left side of the trail. It is small and low to the ground. Only a few boards. Be careful as many bikers and walkers frequent this area and can give away the secret! Or run you down if you're not watching. The box is behind the retaining wall on the South side. If you can touch the mile 6 marker you have gone to far. Turn back just a few steps. Enjoy the view back!
