Bookcrossing is an activity similar to handling travelers but one stashes, finds, and tracks books. To date almost 6 million books have been registered by almost 800,000
participants. And it's free. Although letterboxing and bookcrossing are independent they do overlap. You may find books in letterboxes among other places. This is the
first bookcrossing designated letterbox in MN.

Rules for this letterbox:
- There are no rules. Feel free to take or stash items from this
box as you would from any other. However, in the spirit of
bookcrossing, please consider .. - Taking and reading a book of interest to you.
- Logging it at bookcrossing.com.
- Leaving the book with another potential reader, in another
letterbox, or in a public place where it's likely to be found and read
by a stranger. - Dropping a book (either registered or not) in the box.
- Leaving the freezer bags there so others may use them
for books they drop. - If it runs out of books, please let us know and we'll
replenish it.
This letterbox is also a geocache.
Directions: On highway 3 heading south out of Northfield. Find Wendy's on the west side of the road. To the northwest of Wendy's is a large steel building, the Northfield Ice Arena, home of the large Northfield Hospital Auxiliary book sale held during the end of April or beginning of May. Park in the northwest corner of the parking lot on the south side of the arena. The letterbox is located about halfway between the arena and the river. But to avoid thorns and itch weed it's best to go to the northwest corner of the arena and find a way from there. Anyway, look for a 12-foot high tree stump. In the broken off end of the tree is a 5-gallon pail full of books.
