One day, Willie the Penguin was at Pearson Park for a family reunion with all of his brothers and sisters. It was a huge reunion with relatives from all over. Willie went off to do a little exploring and when he returned to shelter number 6, he found out that his family had left without him. Poor Willie, he was all alone. Will was a practical penguin and went in search of a suitable shelter/home until he is reunited with his family. Here is what he did. First he stood and looked at the shelter. (Shelter #6) There were two possible paths, he took the paved path to the right. He stayed to the left on this path and went thru two yellow posts. He continued on... he passed a really tall dead tree and then a large stump that was very close to the trail. He thought he could smell ice so he kept moving forward on the trail. He eventually passed through another set of yellow posts and realized he was standing behind a very large building. (Hess Ice Rink). He could still smell ice so he followed his nose. Looking to the left, he spotted a baseball field and began to walk toward that. Out of the corner of his eye (Left) he spotted a mound of ice! In July! He moved closer to explore the ice and decided he was going to find a home near this spot. Right behind ice, there was a trail leading back into the woods. At the entrance was a very large log on the right. He ventured into the woods. Approx. 11 paces into the woods, he saw a basketball sized rock to the left of the trail, directly ahead of this, a small trail to the right appeared. He took that route. He followed a circular path, keeping the building in sight. He came across a fallen tree with spiky roots a few feet off the trail to his right. He left the trail and walked toward the tree, it intersected with two other fallen trees, making an "A". Willie decided to make his new home here in the cross bar of the "A" on the left side, under a pile of sticks.
