The Crown of Life

We hope you enjoy this search as much as we did. Time to complete should be one half to three quarters of an hour. This letterbox is at Rockhill Cemetery, Foxboro, Ma.

Directions-Route 95 to exit 7b (Rte. 140 North) to Foxboro. Continue all thgey way around the rotary to South Street. Follow South Street until you pass Union Street on your right. Just past Union street is the main entrance. Stay to the right as you enter, this is a one way. Take time to enjoy the peace and quiet. You may see some geese on the pond. As you search notice the differences between the old stones and the new. See the tokens and flowers put there to remember loved ones. Our clues will let you do most searching from the road.

Clues-Your search is for ten letters to spell the surname of a key gravestone. You may guess the name before you have all the clues, but follow the clues as they will orient you properly. Some of the clues are using bible verses, but you will not need a bible to complete this hunt.

As you reach the top of the hill there is a small building on your left. Continue on this road all the way down until you are almost in the lake. The road curves sharply to the right and there is a pullout on the left. Park in the pullout.
“Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.” (Psalm 100:2) This couple did this for many years. He was an elder of the church and sang in the choir. She ran both the adult and children’s choirs for many years. You must find the music bench. You want the first initial of the wife’s first name.

Go back to your car. There is a dirt road there. Follow this road until you pass a large blue spruce on your left. You are looking for John 3:16 on a stone. You want the first initial of the surname.

Again return to your car. Face back the way you entered the cemetery. Look on your left for the first stone with a cross on it. You want the first initial of the husband’s first name.

Continue towards the entrance. When you see the waterfall look for this verse; ‘by wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established.” (Proverbs 24:3) You want the first letter of the wife’s Maiden name.

“As Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.” (Mark 1:16) Return to the road, head towards the entrance and find the fisherman. You want the first letter of his nickname.

Along the row from the fisherman is your next clue. Take the first initial of the husband’s first name.

This clue will give you the next two consecutive letters. Continue following the road towards the entrance. At the next road on your left about four large gravestones in is a stone with an open bible on it. You want the fourth and seventh letters of the wife’s maiden name.

“In that day the Lord Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people.” (Isaiah 28:5) Continue on this side road. Just as the road turns and starts up a hill you will see the wreath. You want the fourth letter of the husband’s first name.

“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish they answered.” (Matthew 14:17) When you pass Lane and Brown, the road will curve and start uphill. Look for the fish. Take the last letter of the man’s surname.

Now that you have the name, continue uphill looking on the left for the stone. Face it and see a pair of pines. Look behind it for the box and don't forget to leave it well covered afterwards.
