This box is located just within the boundary of Cherokee National Forest in Ocoee, Tennessee.

In Ocoee, TN, US Highway 64 turns into a two lane road, just east of the intersection with Highway 411. You'll pass several rafting places and little stores.

Turn south onto Cookson Creek Road at the (Exxon) gas station. Here, note the sign for Camp Ocoee (which will be in 3.8 miles). You will pass lots of interesting houses while on this road. Continue to follow the main road as it bears to the left at the bend. Pass a tire place and continue up the hill.

Park your vehicle near the Camp Ocoee YMCA camp sign (which you will see on your left). Walk south, up the road a bit further and see the sign that says "Cherokee National Forest". From this sign, continue 60-65 paces south, on the main road. Then, turn right (a little before the bend in the road), off road and walk roughly straight about 20-25 paces.

You will pass some downed trees and see a hollow, old stump to your left. The box is down, inside the stump. Uncover the box from some wood scraps there to hide and keep it securely in place, stamp in, and be sure to place the box and wood scraps back carefully, so they are very secure.

This is our first box, and we are very excited about it. We are actually from Connecticut, but we both have family in Tennessee and wanted to place a box there! We will only be able to check on it ourselves about once a year, so we'd love to hear how it's doing if you go. We left some postcards there, so please send us one of those, or send us an email!

Enjoy!
