Heart “O” Clover

We have friends that have hearts of gold, not clover. This letterbox is to thank the threesome that made our 25th Anniversary special. Thank you from our hearts.

The day was overcast and not looking promising. Black Swan wanted to catch a little pussy, so off to the Trailhead of F ireline T rail at H ickory R un S tate P ark.

At the first Y, we went left and then made a left on S kyline T rail. Hiked up the hill, no it was not too bad, and Stan found the pussy. He decided to take the cat on a walk to the next location. We then decided to make it a loop hike and visit scenic vistas.

Bedded the cat in his new home and followed S kyline T rail. We had a box to plant.

We got to the intersection of G ould’s R un T rail and S kyline. Yes here would be nice.

So hooked a left and headed up the trail to a lonely boulder to the right of the trail. From there, 115 degrees and 16 steps to a “W” tree, under a SR, not a SPOR. Although Black Swan did make a SPOR.

We headed back to S kyline and vista’s and then to the car. Nice hike. Got back to camp and the rain came. I tried to nap under the canopy, while Swan did his exercise thing. The sun came out briefly and then more clouds and rain and thunder and lightning…

We had planned to do an “O” course or two. When the rain and rumbles did not cease……..

Swan said: “What’s the game plan?”

Pink replied: “We break camp and head home.”

Swan responded: “But you are having fun.”

Pink states: “I am having fun, but if we stay and it rains all night, I will not have fun. As a matter of fact I will get B#@^C*, and neither of us will have fun.”

So the next break in the storm, we broke camp and headed home. When we were checking the site for trash (my motto: always leave it better than you found it for the next camper), Swan said: “Come here and give me a kiss in our site before we leave.” I was happy to oblige.

Got home, unloaded wet soggy gear, dinner and a nice soft bed….

And the next day the journey continued…

Thank you to Indigo Vulture, Lightnin Bug and Mapsurfer. It was a wonderful Anniversary!
