Mudstumpers' Mill Mystery Letterbox *** removed due to trail maintainance**** 08/15/04
Placed by The Mudstumpers on July 12, 2003 in celebration of our wedding!
Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah County, Oregon Scenic Highway
Clue difficulty: ??? It's our first box, should be easy.

Alive and well as of 14 FEB 2004

The Columbia Gorge holds many Falls,
A popular stop when nature calls.
Picnic and walk along the ridge.
These falls are actually under the bridge.
The town here used to house a mill.
From the trailhead just go downhill,
The area itself has had the room,
Where once there was a real log flume.
Near a great spot to hold a wedding,
To the bottom, over a bridge you'll be treading.
The prize you seek has NOT the view,
But with discreetness check your clue.
The opposite direction there is a trail.
That you can find without fail.
An obvious spot to take a bearing,
at 270 degrees but don't be daring.
Historical folk have left some traces.
From this point go 82 paces.
It loops around but don't go far.
You'll see a pond (dry in summer) with quite a mar.
Beyond there is a building danger,
Don't go there! Remain a stranger!
At this time just look around.
The obvious spot is on the ground.
Left flank, right plank.
What you seek is below your feet!

Enjoy and celebrate love.

There is an abandoned building nearby full of water and equipment!
