Difficulty: 2
Terrain: 3
Time: 45 - 60 mins
Distance: About 1.5 miles
Other info: I suggest wearing bug spray and shoes that can get muddy.

Clues: Enter Bradley Palmer through the Topsfield entrance off of Asbury Street. Bear to the right as you enter the park. At the 4 way intersection, turn right. The parking lot will be on your left.

From the kiosk walk left so the parking lot is on your left. At the first trail head turn right. There is a rope across most of the trail and a brown wooden sign. Walk around the rope onto the trail. A pond will be on your right. Almost immediately turn left at a muddy (probably) area onto a muddy trail (probably). Follow the trail until an old paved road joins from the left. Turn right and take the grassy trail up hill. At mile marker 43, bear left. After a rocky damp area, the wide trail bears to the right. You want to bear left up hill past a big tree on the right. Just after the tree, turn right. The trail almost immediately curves to the left 90 degrees. Follow the trail until you come to a clearing.

Walk into the clearing past the horse jump on the left. You will join a wide trail that curves from where it comes from to the left. Follow the trail to the left into the woods. There is a trail marker as the trail goes into the woods, but no number. The horse jump will still be on your left. Continue straight past marker 17 where a different trail goes to the right. When the trail crosses another trail, continue straight onto the edge of a grassy field.

Stop and look ahead and to the right. You should see line of trees in the middle of the field. Find the deciduous tree with 4 trunks. Walk across the field to the tree. (Don't worry, horses gallop over the field and jump the fences. You won't be damaging the environment.) Watch out for the wild blackberry vines that will try to trip you up. Walk behind the tree for the best access. The box rests inside the 4 trunks.
Please be discreet and hide as if it were your own.

Returning
When done, retrace your steps back to the clearing where all the trails come together at marker 54. Stay on the trail as it curves right. Marker 54 will be on your left shoulder. Follow this trail back to the parking lot.
