This is a quick and easy letterbox right off the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
Find your way to the Wellfleet end of the Rail Trail. From the parking lot, walk or ride your bike on the paved trail. As soon as you start, you will notice crescent shaped resting/sitting areas. At the third one of these from the start, notice the dirt path leading up a slight hill behind the crescent wall. Follow this path and right away look for a cut-off telephone pole that is about 5 feet tall, just off the trail on the right. Finding this pole lets you know you are on the right path. Continue on the path until you come to an intersection. Take the path to the right as it goes down hill. 15 steps from the intersection, there is a dead log/large branch lying perpendicular to the trail on the left side. Some smaller dead branches at the far end of this log hide Oscar the Owl. Please be discreet since you might be visible from the bike path. Also, you will need your own ink.
Enjoy the letterbox and the bike trail!
