Clues edited 4/16/2021 as some landmarks have been moved.
On a recent “Hauntedly Enchanted Evening” several young women were accused of witchcraft, tried, and met their fate at a nearby tree. A group of witches is called a coven, and the final comment from their courtroom was: “This shall always be a Coven-tree".
Find the museum where “A Hauntedly Enchanted Evening” was held. You can park on the lawn to the left of the driveway. Start walking down the driveway past the house. The door to the next building on your right leads to what was the courtroom where the “witches” were on trial. Walk on, keeping the barn on your right. Check out the informational sign telling about the house and huge foundation on your left, then continue on the driveway to the stone wall jutting out from the left.
Walk around to the back side of the wall and go about 5 -6 feet. The letterbox is in the wall about a foot off the ground behind 2 stones.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
