7/10/15 - The Mad Doctors replaced the logbook. Please bring your own ink - We suggest yellow and green.

During the hurricane which caused major damage thoughout Vermont, this box was washed away. The box was found by Everett, who was kind enough to rehide the box, and provide updated clues, once the area was accessible again.

Many thanks to Everett!

The original stamp went missing. I was unprepared to replace it, but I did the best I could, with a simple (VERY simple) stamp.

This search starts at Quechee Gorge, on Rt. 4 in Quechee, Vermont. This search is along a pretty well graded trail, suitable for small children.

This letterbox will not be accessible when there is snow on the ground.

Near the Gorge was Laro’s New England Specialties. This is a great store that specializes in New England products of all types. They also have a bee hive inside the store (bees are only present in the summertime) that is fascinating to watch. From here, the bees fly off in search of flowers of all types.

Unfortunately, Laro's is now closed.

Take a few minutes to look down into the gorge from the bridge.

Take the trail that follows the gorge downstream. Follow this main trail, past a sign on the fence that states mile 0.2. Past this sign, on the left, will be a side trail, marked with a wooden post, and a sign pointing to the Quechee Gorge Trail. Take this trail away from the gorge. If you see a sign that states no camping, with a trail on the left, you have gone about 50 yards too far past the trail on the left.

As you turn onto the trail, walk 101 adult steps along the trail from where you turn onto it, turn left and
you will see the large standing dead tree up the hill. Go to the dead tree and then see the pine tree that looks like it was girdled by beavers (about 15 -20 steps away). Head toward that tree, continue past it, in a straight line from the large dead tree, about 7 adult steps.

There is a dead tree lying on the ground in front of you with a sharp branch sticking out. The booklet is under the dead tree, about 7 feet uphill from that branch.

Please rehide well, as this trail sees a fair amount of traffic.

Take time to remember the bees at Laro's as they searched for flowers.
