The Robert Beverly Hale Library is located on the Commodore Perry Highway (Rt 1), across from Matunuck Beach Road, South Kingstown Rhode Island.
The Library Hours are: Mon. 10-5 Tues. 1-8 Wed., Thurs., and Fri. 1-5.
Clews: The Dewey Decimal Number for this letterbox is a 5 digit number followed by 3 letters.
You can find the first number by going to the R.I. Historical Section (to the right as you enter the Adult Book Section). Find book 973.744 BAR. Turn to page 172 “The First Day”. If Cashtown is 8 miles from Gettysburg the 1st digit is 9. If Cashtown is 7 miles from Gettysburg the digit is 8, and if the distance is 6, the digit is7.
The second digit can be found in American Literature 810.9 HAR. If Edward Everett Hale wrote Man Without A Country (he’s the father of Robert Beverly Hale) in 1860 the second digit is a 6. If it’s 1872 the digit is 2, 1865, the digit would be 0, and 1866, the digit is 1.
The 3rd digit you’ll need takes you to The Frigate Constitution and Other Historical Ships Ref. 387.2Mag. (On the shelf to the right of the fireplace) Take a look at the cargo the pilgrims brought over on the Mayflower (p.61) the third digit depends on which statement is true.
The Pilgrims did not bring books = 6

To find the next number go to the Illustrated Oxford Dictionary 423.1 DKI. On page 462 is there a picture of a giraffe =.5, a swan = .6, a megalosaurus = .7 or a leatherback turtle =.8
The last digit clue is found in The Complet4e Encyclopedia of Antiques 749.2 RAM. On page 416, if the container in picture B holds sugar the digit is 1, Flour = 4, Tea = 2, or Salt =3.
