In 1899, John E. Hubbard gave the City of Montpelier a gift of 125 acres, since then several other parcels have been added to the park. Hubbard Park now has 185 acres and has roughly 7 miles of hiking and skiing trails, numerous picnic areas, a soccer and ball field, a small pond, a sledding hill, and a 54 foot observation tower. For more information on this wonderful capital city wonder feel free to visit http://www.montpelier-vt.org/parks/hubbard.cfm

This is my dog KoKos favorite spot to hike and play. We visited it often. We visited Hubbard a couple of days before Christmas and the next day she passed away on Christmas eve. This letterbox is in memory of her. She was the best Chocolate lab around! Our family misses her dearly.

From 89 North or South
- Get off exit 8
- Take LEFT at second light
- Take Right at the light onto State St.
- You are going by the Vermont Capital building
- You will see on your left the movie theater, post office, and the court house. Take a left onto Elm St.
- Go through the Red blinking light.
- About .2 miles from the Red blinking light take a LEFT onto to Spring St.
- At the end of Spring St. bear left onto Parkway.
- Go up the hill and bear left onto a dirt road.

Once you enter the gate there is a small pond on your left. Park here and begin your journey following the road uphill. Shortly you will come upon a split in the road. Take the left (the wooden signpost in front of you). Walking on the right hand side of the road you will come across two trails leading into the woods. Take the second trail marked with a sign saying "Acorn Trail" If you have come to a gate with a sign that say tower trail you have gone to far. turn around and about 100 steps back down the road you will find Acorn Trail.

About 70 steps on this trail looking at your right you will see conjoined twin trees with a large rock both in front and behind said trees. Tucked between the tree and the back rock you will find "KoKo's 2nd Home".

Stamp in and enjoy exploring this park. The tower is beautiful and you can also find other letterboxes in this park! It is a letterbox haven! Great for a family day!
