Flowers Mean Peace letterbox is found off of Montpelier's bike path. Although this is not a very long bike path is boasts many beautiful views of the river and a "Peace Park".
-Off I-89 take exit #8 (Montpelier exit)
-Take your first left onto Dog River Rd. You should pass a park n ride on your left once on this road. If you hit a traffic light before you have taken a left you have gone to far. Turn around at this light and take your first right onto Dog River rd.
-Take you first right off Dog river rd onto Junction rd.
-Immediately on your right there is a paved bike path. Pull over and park you will see spaces where cars pull over off to one side.
Walking along the bike bath you will pass five large pine trees on you left. Soon after you will come to the Peace Park. If you keep walking on the bike path you will soon see a large boulder with the Peace parks dedication engraved into it. Behind this you will see six benches in a circle. Walk to this circle and look down. This piece of stone and jeweled encrusted piece of artwork must have taken along time to do. There are pieces of chalk in a plastic container under of of the benches to draw with on the stones!!
Looking towards the river you will see a large flower garden. Walk to the left along the edge of the garden and allow you feet to walk along 10 stepping stones along a short path. enjoy the views of the river. Walking back along the 10 stepping stones you will see two man made benches on your right. Looking at the first one you will see two large trees behind it. The one on the left has the "Flowers Mean Peace" letterbox hidden behind it under a rock.
Please be careful and re-hide well as this is a well-visited area.
