On a little country road in Canterbury you'll find a TRUE NEW ENGLAND treat...LISA'S CHOCOLATES... a wonderful country store filled with a variety of gifts, goodies, and great deals! LISA'S CHOCOLATES also offers gift baskets, penny candy, homemade soaps, jewelry and MUCH MORE! Throughout the summer there are many events at the store...tag sales, craft shows, antique shows. Stop in to get a listing of these wonderful events!
Hours of business are Sundays 11-5 and Tuesday - Saturday 10-5. You can certainly find our letterbox if you are there when the store is closed...but...why would you want to do that!? :)
LISA'S CHOCOLATES shares the land with some very special friends. A visitor favorite is Josie, a special needs goat who was rescued and cared for by the owners of the property. Her feet were badly damaged by frost bite, but with the help of some very caring animal lovers, today she is very happy and healthy! She's sure to leave her "hoof-print" on your heart! ;)
DIRECTIONS:
From North – 395S to exit 87. Right at end of ramp. At light, left onto Rt.12. Continue past Agway. Shortly after John Deere turn right onto Butts Bridge Rd. LISA’S is ¼ mile on left.
From Hartford – Take Rt.2 toward Norwich. Take exit 28N toward Providence onto 395N. Take exit 83A Lisbon, Canterbury. Turn left onto Rt. 169. At 4-way stop, go straight. Continue for 4.5 miles. Turn right onto Butts Bridge Rd. (A sign will say toward Rt. 12) LISA'S is 1 mile on right.
From South – Take 95N to 395N. Take exit 83A Lisbon, Canterbury. Turn left onto Rt. 169. At 4-way stop, go straight. Continue for 4.5 miles. Turn right onto Butts Bridge Rd. (A sign will say toward Rt. 12) LISA'S is 1 mile on right.
CLUES: Park in LISA'S gravel driveway. Your journey will begin at her sign near the road. Facing LISA'S property, look to the WEST. “Oh Say, Can You See?” Walk in that direction. Enjoy the animals, the view of the pond… If you’re lucky, on the way, you’ll meet Josie herself. After your visit, look for something cOLD to drink… “Enjoy!”
