DRIVING DIRECTIONS : From Vancouver, travel east on Highway 14, turn left onto Wind River Road to Carson. From Portland travel east on I-84 to Cascade Locks, cross over Bridge of the Gods, turn right onto Highway 14, left on Wind River Road to Carson. From Carson travel 14.2 miles to Forest Road 3062. Travel on FR 3062 for 2 miles, turn right at Y where sign says Lower Falls Creek Trail #152A; travel about a half mile more to trailhead.

Trailhead info: There's a port-a-potty but no running water. You'll need to purchase a NW Forest Pass (before you go) to park here.

Hike 1.7 miles to the falls. It's rated an "easy" hike, but if you're not used to walking up hills you may find it moderate/difficult. Bring plenty of water to drink! The falls at the end are well worth any effort you may have to put forth.

Box retrieval: definitely moderate.

CLUES: After arriving at the falls (AT LAST!!!) stand on the flat rock next to the split boulder. See the line of three on twenty degrees? Go to the third and take another heading of 20. Climb up and over the boulders to arrive at the fourth tree. Box is 'adrift' under the table-top boulder on the NE side of this tree. Re-hide well; this is a popular route of access for those who dare to attempt the upper falls!
