Getting to Center Sandwich, NH:
Near the junction of NH 25 and NH25b in Center Harbor find Bean Rd. and turn North, going 8 miles to Center Sandwich. Turn north onto Grove St. which becomes Diamond Ledge Rd. At 2.4 miles, follow Diamond Ledge Rd. into a right turn, and go straight past another right turn, for 0.4 mile to Mead Conservation Center. Park here and find the Wentworth trailhead to the left of the building. It is a 4.2 mile trail roundtrip to the summit of Mount Israel. Elevation 930 feet to 2,630 feet. Moderate to Medium difficulty. Blazes alomg the way are yellow.
When you get to the summit there will be a huge carn at the top. Behind this huge carn are the two tallest trees. Behind the shorter of the two trees is the back of the rock (you will be between a rock and a hard place). There is a small ledge on the ground between the tree and the rock. You actually have to crawl under the tree. Hidden in this ledge (not the smaller legde that is under the lowest branch of the tree - behind that) is the letterbox inside that small crevice covered by a rock.
