We found this box in disarray & up for adoption so we are taking it home to care for it and will replace soon so it is temporarily unavailable & will repost as soon as possible
Distance: less than .25 miles
Time: about 10 - 20 minutes
Terrain: short but moderate because you are going uphill
Veasey Park, Groveland, MA
One hundred years ago, a man named Arthur D. Veasey built a house on a hill and lived there for a while. Later, his family sold their house to a person who sold it to a church. The church called the land Nun’s Hill. Then the nuns sold the hilltop to the town for trails and open land. Now Veasey Park and Nun’s Hill is used for meetings, cub scouts, special events, and fun all at low price!!!!!! You can skate on and fish in Johnson’s pond. You can sled on the hill in the winter.
The Treez Letterbox at Groveland's Veasey Park.
This letterbox was created and planted by fourth grade students as part of a school project to increase peoples’ awareness and use of Groveland’s public spaces. We hope you enjoy the area. Please check out the other Groveland letterboxes made by the Treez classmates.
1.) Park on the right of Washington Street just before Uptack Road coming from Groveland.
2.) Look between the row of trees on the right for a mowed path.
3.) Go to the huge lone tree halfway up the hill.
4.) Look up to the top of the hill.
5.) Turn 45 degrees clockwise and walk toward the trees at the top of the hill.
6.) Stop at the top after about 135 steps.
7.) Go north and walk about 78 steps to the birdhouse.
8.) Look into the woods in a westerly direction.
9.) Look for a collapsed house.
10.) Walk to the foundation.
11.) Look down. The letterbox is covered with a lot of wood on your left.
Be careful of poison ivy!
