OK, so here's the story. We set off from Chattanooga relatively early one morning headed for Alabama. There were quite a few trucks on the road at that hour. We pulled into a Welcome Center we came upon. It was a nice one with a nice picnic area overlooking a lake and good places to hide a box. Then we discovered we were still in Tennessee. (Why do they put welcome centers as you leave a state??) So, we moved on. We weren't able to find a good spot as we entered Alabama and most of the rest area in the next several states had serious security keeping too close a watch for us to plant anything. So, we ended up back in our home state in our favorite coming home rest area. (There are a number of other boxes in this one.) So, that's the story of a Welcome to Alabama box in Connecticut.
Clues: Stop at the eastbound rest area at exit 2. Go into the car parking area and park by the first set of stairs and the no loitering sign. Go up to the picnic area and go left to the table by the wall. At the base of the tree to the left, between the tree and a big rock there's a small rock covering the "box".
