North Grosvenordale, CT. West side of Thompson Dam.

From I-395 take exit 99, follow Rte. 200 to West Thompson Rd. Continue over the West Thompson Dam and take your first right onto Ravenelle Road. Park in the lot with the yellow Park gate.

Follow the paved path into the park. Go down the first hill. At the second hill take a left onto a narrow path or continue over the top of the second hill and turn left on the paved road marked “Ramsdell Farm”.

Walk until you see the small corn field on the left on the other side of a stone wall. From the parking lot to here is a 10-12 minute easy walk.

On your right you will see a lovely view of the reservoir. Closer than the reservoir is a small young orchard enclosed by a deer fence. Closer yet is a stone wall. Find the opening in the stone wall and walk through it. (The opening is near the North side of the orchard). Turn left and walk along the stone wall until you get to a large double trunk tree.

3 to 4 feet before the tree you will find Harry’s box in the stone wall near the base.

Bring directions with you for the Dog Scout “Sachet” letterbox. It is close by.
