This series: Unofficial UTSS (Utah State Symbols) includes things that are common in Utah, yet not an official state symbol.
I’m sure you’ve heard this phrase used by Utahans.
Canyon View Park - about 0.2 miles round-trip. Microbox – no log book
DIRECTIONS: I-15 exit 269 – 800 N. Follow 800 N. east toward Provo Canyon. Where the road splits, stay left, toward Provo Canyon. The first left turn into Canyon View. As you enter the park, go left, past the restrooms. Park at the end of the parking lot.
CLUES: There is a paved nature trail at this end of the park. At the beginning of the trail is a picnic table in the grassy area on the right. Up ahead, there is another picnic table. Go just past that table, and stop at the sign that says: Riparian Plant Community. Look into the field behind this sign to a large flat boulder. Go to this boulder. There is a large crevice at the base. Under the crevice is a 6 inch rock embedded against the boulder. The microbox is next to this rock, under more rocks.
Please be discreet and rehide well.
