This series: Unofficial UTSS (Utah State Symbols) includes things that are common in Utah; yet not an official state symbol.

If you go to a potluck in Utah, you will probably see this food item as one of the choices.

Wetlands Park – about 0.5 miles or less round-trip.

DIRECTIONS: I-15 exit 279 – Main St. Head west on Main Street, and turn left on 2300 West. Just before the river, turn right, into the parking lot. At the beginning of Wetlands park is the Model Airplane Park.

CLUES: Go up the parkway, past the Model Airplane Park. Where the trail splits, there is a cement barrier. Continue on past it, keeping the river to your left. Soon there is a trail on the left, that follows the river bank. Take this trail, going 25 steps and stop. There should be 3 trees on the left, standing about 6 inches apart. Their trunks are bigger around than the other trees you’ve gone past on this trail. At the base of the trees, reach between the 2 larger ones on the right, and the letterbox is under a large flat rock.

Please make sure there are rocks in place to block the box from tumbling down into the river. Be discreet and rehide well.
