GONE TO THE DOGS

This is the first letterbox planted by Redfern Rambler and Cairns Galore. We hope you enjoy it!

To begin this Letterbox, you must first solve the questions below.
1. According to the American Kennel Club, how many GROUPS of dogs are there? __________
2. What dog in the Working Group is the state dog of PA? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
3. What country do the Pembroke and Cardigan Corgis come from? _ _ _ _ _
4. What Sporting dog is the most popular dog in America? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
5. What kind of terrier was Toto in the Wizard of Oz? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
6. What Toy dog was named after a butterfly? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
7. What country did the Poodle originally come from? _ _ _ _ _ _ _
8. What dog is Russia’s contribution to the Hound group? _ _ _ _ _ _

Your starting place is: 4-3, 7-3, 6-2, 5-5, 2-6, 7-7, 3-1, 8-6, 6-8, 2-3//6-1, 3-3, 4-5, 8-4, 5-2 in Harrisburg, PA.

Enter the parking lot from Paxton Church Road and park near the “big dog house” to your right as you enter the lot.

Find the direction marker on the dog house and stand with your back to the wall and the point behind you.

Walk 25 paces straight ahead and look up to see a half moon with 2 pairs.

Pivot left and walk 3 paces PAST the second pillar on your right.

Cross the drive and follow the narrow white path in front of you to its end. (Make small detours as necessary!)

Turn _____degrees and walk 17 steps to the 3 brothers. (The blank should be filled in with the answer to question #1.)

Walk between the first and second brothers, cross the dog trap, pass the blue box, and stop at the tree trunk.

Turn to the South and walk to the down spout. (Keep going and your pooch will want to sign up for some education.)

Pivot left at the down spout and about 25’ in front of you will be a small table.

Behind the northwest leg and under the table will be your treat!

This is a VERY high traffic area. Be careful to watch for moving vehicles and be VERY discreet when hiding the box!

Please bring your own stamp pad.
