Start at the N entrance to Itasca State Park at the junction of US Hwy 200 and Clearwater Co 2. Drive N 1.5 miles and turn left at the sign for the WANAGAN public canoe access. Go 0.4 miles to the end of the driveway and the beginning of the road to the landing.
At this point you can drive the remaining 0.6 miles to the landing or walk the rest of the way. It is a nice walk, there is a good chance of seeing deer or other wildlife along the way. If you choose to drive, be careful, the road is narrow and rutted.
Once you arrive at the landing, go to the NW corner of the shelter. Walk 35 paces at a bearing of 306 degrees to the three small pine trees. The letterbox/geocache is under the trees.
