****** Texas Winery Series ********
The Chisholm Trail Winery microbox is located west of Fredericksburg about 7 miles on ranch land in an old barn (perfect place for a winery by this name). The facility is rustic, but it has been updated with plenty of room. The wine is okay, with our favorite being the Diablo. There is a charge for tasting, with different options.
Directions:
From Fredericksburg, go west on Hwy 290 about 7 miles. Look for blue sign, and turn left on Usener Rd and go about 3 miles to winery. Park near sign. Go in and taste, then come out and find box.
To the Microbox:
From parking lot, go toward the entry sign and at end of the parking railroad ties to a wine barrell at the end. Tilt the barrell toward the sign and find the flat microbox on the ground under the edge.
