The 2000 World Series, the 96th edition of Major League Baseball's championship series, featured a crosstown matchup between the two-time defending champion New York Yankees and the New York Mets, with the Yankees winning four games to one for their third straight championship and 26th overall. It marks, to date, the last World Series with a repeat champion. It was the first postseason Subway Series since 1956. For the Mets, it was their fourth World Series appearance—the most of any expansion franchise in the MLB and their first since their championship season of 1986.The Yankees were the first team to three-peat as champions since the 1972–1974 Oakland Athletics (The Athletics defeated the Mets in 1973 to win the World Series) and the first franchise to appear in three straight World Series since the 1988–1990 Oakland Athletics.

This box is dedicated in the honor of Gerald Gorr, a true Yankee fan!

Clues: Veterans Memorial Field is located at the top of Woodruff street. As you get to the top you will see the Veterans Memorial Field Sign on left. Enter here and park on the top Parking lot as you enter. Follow the road to you see a playplace to the left. Across from there you will see a large flat rock. this is the begining of the trail. Follow the moss covered trail till you hit a TEE section, hang a right and follow till you see an opening through the chain link fence. Stop here and look right and you will see a bunch of wood stumps. Look under the trap door of one of them. Please bring blue ink if you could.
