Clues: easy
Terrain: easy. Mostly paved walking path and grass in a scenic state park which was, historically, a sawmill. Its waterfall and wooded location in central Massachusetts make this park a lovely destination, especially in Autumn! If you choose only to hunt for the LB, it will take about half an hour, however, there are a number of trails here to explore and enjoy.

Moore State Park (508) 792-3969 is located in Paxton, Ma (the hometown of the hider of this letterbox) and so the directions will be given from that point. There are other ways to get here from other places and, for those, you will need your own map.

From Paxton center, take Rte. 31 South heading towards Spencer.

About 1 1/2 miles (although we didn't measure) down this road, take a right onto Saw Mill Rd. at the brown sign for Moore State Park.

Park at the visitors' parking lot, which is across from a "road closed to vehicles" barrier.

Leave this lot on foot and take a left out onto the paved path you came in on (there are no cars after that point).

Stay on this paved path past the scenic viewing spot with adirondack chairs, past the house, and past the foot bridge until you get to the sawmill.

On the side of this sawmill building, stand in front of the framed area with a padlock where there used to be a plaque listing former owners of mill. From this point, turn around, cross the paved path and walk onto the grass. Take a left between 2 tall trees.

Walk ahead until you reach a clearing which is surrounded by a circle of stone walls.

Stand in the center of this with your back to the mill and see in front of you a space between 2 stone walls. Starting at the 1st large stone at the left stone wall, take 4 adult steps along the wall.

Behind a rather lightish-orangey-looking stone or stones at knee height (adult) you will find this letterbox.
