Explore some of Oregon's trails, and The Oregon Trail, when spending some time on Mt. Hood. The Mt. Hood RV Village on Hwy 26 has RV sites, yurts, cabins and walk-in camping available. It also is right next to Wildwood Rec Area, which is full of trails for exercise and also has the Cascade Stream Watch.

Hiking in the winter is underrated. On a rare day of good weather, you can be virtually alone to explore an otherwise very popular place like Wildwood. You have the opportunity to see the area in a much more natural state.

If coming from the trail system in Wildwood, from the Old Mill Trail watch for signs to the Mt. Hood RV Village. When you find a footbridge that crosses a stream where 2 streams merge, take the side trail that is just a few feet away. Follow the stream around 40 steps to a twisty tree on the other side of the trail. There is a suspicious rock on the back side....

If you are camped at MHRVV, the trailhead is on Cascade Drive just after Vine Maple. Follow it to the intersection and backtrack (follow the stream around 40 steps to a twisty tree on the other side of the trail. There is a suspicious rock on the back side....)
