The Cactus Garden letterbox is hidden in the cactus garden at Kapiolani Community College (KCC). The best day to find this letterbox is Saturday morning-there is a wondeful farmer's market that sells breakfast, pastries, coffee, plants, and produce from 7-10.

KCC is located between Monsarrat Ave./Diamond Head Rd., Makapuu Ave., Kilauea Ave., and 18th Ave. Bus 3 stops at KCC. It is a short walk from Waikiki, and along your way if you plan to visit Diamond Head crater.

The cactus garden is on the side of KCC closest to Diamond Head crater. It faces the crater and is at the edge of the parking lot. Once you find the cactus garden, find the paved ramp with a railing tha cuts through the garden. It is at an intersection of the parking lot with a white Honolulu Advertiser newspaper machine, a trash can, a walkway light with "278" on it, and 2 stop signs. If you are standing on the sidewalk facing the ramp, turn left on the sidewalk and take approx 40 steps down the sidewalk away from the ramp until you are next to a lamp post with "21" on it.

Now turn to your right, facing the garden, and take approx 25 steps toward the large volcanic rocks at the back of the garden. You will be walking in the 11 o'clock direction if you are facing the large rocks. You will see a large volcanic rock with some white lichen growing on it. The name "Jones" is faintly scraped in the white part of the rock.

Walk behind and straight back from the Jones rock, about 10 feet, to what looks likse a small cave in the large volcanic rocks. A tree with tiny leave is behind and above this "cave". There is a part of a telephone pole sticking out of the top left side of this "cave".

Kneel down at the entrance of the cave. Look sharply to the left in the very front portion of the cave for the white, round letterbox with a yellow lid, resting on some rocks.
