Check out bracken, a common fern where you’re going, at any of a number of websites, one of them being widipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bracken

Then head on out to Heart’s Desire Beach at Tomales Bay State Park. $8 entrance fee, $7 for the elderly starting at 62 years. From the parking area find the Indian Nature Trail. Very short walk up. Check out info on the Coast Live Oak and then start wondering and musing on natural laxatives. From the point of your casual inquiry into laxatives continue 6 steps up the trail to a natural opening to your left. Walk 19 steps within that opening until you spy a live oak with a few trunks to your right. Go around to its northwest side where there will be an indentation made by two trunks. Reach under the one to the east and beneath some leaves should be Heart’s Desire Bracken.

For some reason letterboxes customarily don’t seem to last that long at Heart’s Desire Beach. Perhaps that is because it can be a popular place in the summer or maybe it’s a comment on the fickleness of the human heart. Anyway, let me know if you find it or not and I shall think none of the worse of you either way.

Good luck!!
