Desert Duck is the winged guardian of the Vegas Valley, protecting young ducklings from hoodlums and miscreants since the dawn of time. His secret hideout has recently been discovered by the masses, so this letterbox has been hidden to commemorate his former secret hideout.

If you plan on exploring the caves, bring a flashlight. Head out earlier in the day to avoid the sun setting while you’re in the caves.

Head south on Fort Apache past Warm Springs. As you are driving keep an eye on the right. You will see a mountain and eventually some large cavernous openings in it. Drive until you see a path leading to the cave and just park on the dirt at the base of the path, on the south side of the caves.

Walk up the path toward the caves. On your right you should see a sign noting that the path is closed to motor vehicles, placed by the Bureau of Land Management. Continue on until the path splits. Take the path to the right and follow it around until you see the cave entrances. Turn left to enter the largest entrance of the cave. Once inside head right, towards the light. Head uphill a bit towards the rock that’s mostly separate, and in the shadow of that rock lays Desert Duck.
