When I was a girl, my brothers and sisters would spend hours at the Christian Temple playground. We'd terrify ourselves on the "Mile High Slide" and get dizzy til we dropped on the "Merry Go Round". Oh, the joy!! Then we'd walk a couple of blocks back to Nan Nan's and Bop Bop's house. I'll never forget the smells! Nan would would be cooking something delicious upstairs and Bop would be down the cellar smoking a Queenie and drinking a Natty Boh. We'd run happily down the stairs to smell the aroma of his cigar. National Boh was a local brew made in Baltimore and it was his favorite. A couple times a year, Bop would host our family's picnic at the local state park. He'd always bring a big silver laundry tub filled with sodas and Natty Bohs. It was sheer delight to see him walking towards the pavillion. He use to pay us kids a quarter to sing the National Boh jingle. Those are memories that I'll never forget. Here's to you, Bop Bop!!

From the jct. of Rtes. 32 and 26 in Eldersburg, drive 1.9 mile turn left onto Martz Rd. Drive past houses and park across from the kiosk sign. Take the trail behind the kiosk sign (marked by "Trail Start" sign). Follow the white blaze trail down the hill. Cross the bridge, go up the hill and take a rest on the bench. Continue walking to the T intersection and head right down the hill. Continue along the trail that parallels the stream until you reach the bridge (the 2nd one on the trail) next to the hitching post. What you seek is under the left side of the bridge. Head back to your car the way you came
