It will help to obtain a map of the area from the Merritt Island NWR visitor center or use an online map such as from Google. From U. S. Highway 1 in Titusville, go northeast on State Highway 406 / A. Max Brewer Memorial Pkwy. Just past the intersection with State Highway 3, the highway will make a turn directly north and change name to Courtney Pkwy N. Now look for the Scrub Ridge Trail sign on the right (east) side of the highway. Turn right (east) on the dirt road and drive the short distance to the trailhead parking. This webpage gives a nice description of the trail and the flora and fauna of the area: http://nbbd.com/OutThere/ScrubTrail/index.html .

From the information sign, walk south on the Scrub Ridge Trail. Look for the first tall lone Palm Tree on the right side of the trail (it is a few yards off the trail). When this tree is directly to your right, look to the opposite (left) side of the trail. You will see a cluster of low Palmetto Trees. The box is on the left side of this cluster about 5 steps off the trail. It is behind a thick root base and covered with a small log and rock which are covered by some plant debris and a dead Palmetto leaf.

Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag), and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the log, rock, plant debris and dead Palmetto leaf so that it can not be seen from any direction.

I will not be able to check on this box; so, please let me know if you find it, or if it needs attention or is missing:
