NOTE (6/17/2020): Box is still available after 10 years! Here's to 10 more!
Your journey begins at the intersection of Vermont Ave. and Javelin St. in the areas just outside of Torrance. This box is planted close to residential areas so please be very quick when retriving and re-hiding. Be sure you are not seen.
The following directions can be either driven or walked. Walking may take a little longer though.
Begin at the intersection of Vermont Ave. and Javelin St. Turn East on Javelin and go straight until the street ends.(If you are walking, find a place to park on the side streets.) Van Deene Elementary should be on your right. Turn right on Menlo Ave. Menlo turns into 213th street. Turn right on 213th street. Make a quick left on Conradi Ave. Turn left on 214th Street. Stop at the Cul-de-sac. See the hidden neighborhood on the left and the bridge leading to Carson on the right? Go to the guard rail next to this bridge. See the 2 red signs behind the guard rails? Go to the one on the right. To the left of this sign, find a seam in the guard rails. On the backside of the guard rails, wedged between two bolts near the wood, magnetically attatched to the guard rail is the small letterbox. Please be very quick and find somewhere close to stamp in where you are not visible to the residents nearby.
When you are done, please rehide the box EXACTLY where you found it. Please wedge between the 2 bolts.
Be sure not to bother people in the "hidden neighborhood". If you go over that bridge, it goes over the 110 freeway to Carson, CA. Enjoy the letterbox.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
