BOX RETIRED 8/2013 AND HH's DISTRIBUTED.
Clues updated 2/21/10.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR A HOSTEL: There must always be at least 3 HH in the box. You may stamp into all of them, exchange what you have one for one, take all but 3 and leave all you want to.

To find this Trust of Plainville Nature Sanctuary use address of 50 Taunton St. It is on Rt.152 between Rt. 106 and Rt.1. It is across from the now defunked Plainville Drive-In theater if anyone remembers that. When you get near the area look for 2 large brown and beige boxes 4-5 feet high that telephone wiring is in. These boxes are protected by a telephone pole fence. The sign for Sanctuary area is behind these boxes and fence.

There is a 'no hunting' sign posted but I suggest you wear blaze orange whenever you box in a wooded area. There is parking for 3-4 cars in front of the Sanctuary. This is a lovely spot; you might want to bring a lunch and relax a while after finding the hostel. Total trip should take around 45 min.

Go around the chain link fence and follow the path to Turnpike Lake. Just before a bridge/waterfall take a path down to your right and follow the stream path.

As a side note; I found a Geocache box in a dying oak tree with an offspring growing from it along the streams edge along this path.

At your second stream crossing note the old foundation with a small waterwheel in it. This was a factory at one point in time past.

At your third stream crossing take the lower bridge and follow this path. Be careful as it is very rooty (is that even a word?) for a short distance. You will soon go over a small two plank stream crossing.

Before the fourth stream crossing follow the stream to your right (you will do some minor bushwaching for a very short distance.) Keep the stream on your left. At the next stream crossing is your prize. Look under left side of the bridge.

PLEASE NOTE THE PLACEMENT OF BOX BEFORE YOU MOVE IT. Please cover TOP of box to prevent it being seen thru bridge slats. I left a long piece of bark near box to be used for this purpose. DO NOT put rocks on top of box as the weight causes boxes to crack especially in cold weather.

Take the clues to Amy and Jays 'Sad Bug' box from LBNA as it is in this area.
