When looking for "Puppy Princess" we found this box just sitting in the open. A search on Atlas Quest and Letterboxing.org did not find the origin. We planted this box near where it was found. We hope the placer will contact us. The box is in good shape and ready to be found on the way to "Puppy Princess"

The owner of the box planted it in honor of a 50th birthday and Hawaii as the 50th state.

To find it go up Diamond Head Road Between Makapu'u Avenue and 18th Avenue. It is open daily between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m if you want to go on the hike (highly recommended as long as you are not claustrophobic or out of shape, as the trail is all up hill, and there is a long tunnel towards the end that you have to pass through.)

However, to find this letterbox you don’t even have to enter the main park area.

Before you get to the tunnel into the park area (and therefore before you have to pay $5 for parking) there is a small turnout on the left side of the road. Pull in there for free parking and get ready for a quick little hike. On the right side of the parking lot (as you look out towards the water, and away from Diamond head, you will see a sign that says, “Closed Area, No Hiking, No Camping”. Boldly pass by this sign and look for the trail that leads into the grass, around the side of the hill behind the tree.

The box is planted right next to this tree.

Carry on to find "Puppy Princess"
