This letterbox will not be available until March 2011 in order to coincide with the festival.

The namesake festival for this box is held yearly in Palestine at the Museum of East Texas Culture which is located at the former site of John H. Reagan High School in Palestine (Note: This is not the site of the box {see below}). The address is 400 Micheaux Palestine, Texas and the event will be held March 25th, 26th and 27th. If you get here during the last two weekends of March you might also check out the Dogwood Trails Festival and, God willing, check out the dogwood blossoms, and letterboxes, in Davey Dogwood Park.

Directions to the letterbox: On the west side of Palestine, from Loop 256, go west on Court Drive (FM 2394.) This road has a flashing traffic light at the loop. Approximately 8/10 of a mile from the loop, you will take a right on Chancellor Drive. Head down Chancellor and cross Salt Works Road. You will be on a black top road. Follow Chancellor until it changes to a paved road. Take the 1st left, Prairie lane. As you can see this is a dead end. Time to go off road! Head down to the fenced in area near the tree line. It is a utilities station. Look for the 1st cedar to the right (if you are facing to the west) of the fenced in area. the box is at the base. Be careful with this find as it is in a residential area. Be careful of the regular nasties that inhabit the same areas as letterboxes and have fun.
