Ludlow, MA is home to a little gem called Lupa Zoo. (www.lupazoo.org) They have many kinds of exotic animals. I have named one of the animals Lupa. He and some friends have gone out for a hike, and this is your invitation to go out on a mini safari to find them. The hunt begins at Camp White on Munsing St (located between home #125 Munsing St, and the power lines.)

From the parking lot, go through the silver gate and head down the slight hill. Before coming to a clearing, take a left onto a trail marked “trail” in red ink. A few steps in, the path also branches to the left, don’t take left, stay going straight. Also stay going straight past the point where another path comes in from the right. Shortly after that intersection, your path will bend to the left and then come to a “T”. At the “T” turn right, follow the path through a cut-through log.

Here you will see swamps to your left and woods on your right, from here you could probably hear the zoo animals on a quiet day. After the swamp, the path goes up hill back into the woods. At the 4-way intersection, turn right. Take 17 steps, then turn to face left. In front of you will be a 14-trunk tree that contains Lupa & friends in it's crux, covered with leaves & moss.

After stamping in and re-hiding well, continue following this path in the direction you were heading. This path leads to soccer fields. Continue in the same direction, straight through theses fields until you see swing sets on your left. Turn right at the swings, walk up a small hill and you will be back at the gate in the parking area.
